Проблема регионального своеобразия и взаимовлияний в архитектуре поздневизантийского времени лежит в основе научной дискуссии об архитектуре поздневизантийского периода. В этом контексте интересным представляется случай Верии. С одной стороны, Верия в поздневизантийское время становится одним из активных региональных архитектурных центров: при том, что в предшествующие периоды здесь не велось интенсивного строительства и не сложилось местной традиции, в XIV в. в городе появляется более десяти храмов, связанных с частным заказом различного уровня. С другой стороны, поздневизантийский период в Верии представлен памятниками второго и третьего ряда, которые не отражают поворотных моментов развития архитектуры, из-за чего этот материал, как правило, оказывается в стороне и редко рассматривается исследователями в свете региональной проблематики.

В данной статье анализируется региональная специфика поздневизантийской Верии как архитектурного центра через выявление устойчивых ярких особенностей. Также прослеживается основная траектория стилистического развития архитектуры Верии в контексте тенденций палеологовского времени. В вопросе уточнения истоков характерных особенностей поздневизантийского зодчества Верии автор развивает и аргументирует гипотезу о влиянии архитектуры Эпира XIII – начала XIV в., выраженного, главным образом, в сходстве декоративного арсенала и композиционных принципов работы с фасадным декором, а также Салоник, которое проявляется с 1330-х гг. и отражается не только в декоративных элементах, но и в конфигурации апсид, в освоении нового пропорционального строя. Предпринимается попытка идентификации строительных артелей, работавших в Верии.

The problem of regional originality and mutual influences in the architecture of the Late Byzantine period lies at the heart of the scientific discussion about the architecture of the Late Byzantine period. In this context, the case of Veria is interesting. On the one hand, in the late Byzantine period, Veria became one of the active regional architectural centers: despite the fact that in previous periods there was no intensive construction and no local tradition, in the 14th century more than a dozen churches were built in the city by as private commissions. On the other hand, the Late Byzantine period in Veria is represented by extremely modest buildings which do not reflect the turning points in the development of architecture, which is why this material, as a rule, is left aside and is rarely considered by researchers in the light of regional issues.In this article, an attempt is made to characterize the regional specifics of the Late Byzantine Veria as an architectural center through the identification of stable striking features. The main trajectory of the stylistic development of the architecture of Veria in the context of trends of the Paleologian period is also traced. In the question of clarifying the origins of the characteristic features of the late Byzantine architecture of Veria, the author develops and argues a hypothesis about the influence of the architecture of Epirus of the 13th – early 14th centuries, expressed mainly in the similarity of the decorative arsenal and compositional principles of work with facade decor, as well as Thessaloniki, which has been manifested since the 1330s and is reflected not only in decorative elements, but also in the configuration of the apses, in the development of a new proportional system. An attempt is being made to identify the construction companies that worked in Veria.
