В статье вводится в научный оборот малоизвестный картографический источник по дорегулярной планировке и застройке города Орла — план его Заорлицкой части 1780 г. Документ сохранился в виде фотокопии в Альбоме архитектора С.И. Фёдорова в фондах ГАОО и ООКМ и ранее никогда не публиковался. В литературе краеведческой направленности лишь упоминалась его фрагментарная копия начала XX в., сам план находился вне поля внимания исследователей, и его огромный потенциал для изучения градостроительной истории Орла до сего дня оставался невостребованным. Проблема состояла в том, что документ был значительно поврежден — от экспликации сохранился лишь небольшой фрагмент, и установить большинство дворовладельцев было нельзя, что сильно ограничивало те возможности для анализа градостроительной динамики данной территории, которые он мог бы дать. В ходе проводимого автором комплексного исследования нового вида источников, который открывает большие перспективы для изучения русского города дорегулярной поры — Полевых записок Генерального межевания последней четверти XVIII в. — стало понятно, что они могут послужить материалом для реконструкции утраченной части памятника. С успехом проведенная, такая реконструкция позволила почти полностью восстановить его содержание и впервые опубликовать источник и его копию не только в сохранившемся, но и в реконструированном виде. Это дало основу для наблюдения за динамикой социальной структуры рассматриваемой территории города в неразрывной связи с особенностями ее пространственно-планировочного построения и позволило провести первую апробацию предлагаемого автором генеалого-топографического метода реконструкции планировки русских городов в XVII – начале XVIII в.
The article introduces into scientific circulation a little-known cartographic source on the pre-regular planning and development of the city of Oryol — the plan of its Zaorlitskaya part of 1780. In the literature of local lore orientation, only its fragmentary copy of the early XX century was mentioned, the plan itself was out of the field of attention of researchers, and its huge potential for studying the urban planning history of Oryol has remained unclaimed to this day. The problem was that the document was significantly damaged — only a small fragment of the explication survived, and it was impossible to identify most of the household owners, which greatly limited the possibilities for analyzing the urban dynamics of this territory that it could give. In the course of the author’s comprehensive study of a new type of sources, which opens up great prospects for the study of the Russian city of the pre-regular period — the Field Notes of the General Land Survey of the last quarter of the XVIII century — it became clear that they could serve as material for the reconstruction of the lost part of the monument. Such a reconstruction, which was successfully carried out, made it possible to almost completely restore its content and for the first time to publish the source and its copy not only in a preserved, but also in a reconstructed form. This provided the basis for observing the dynamics of the social structure of the city territory under consideration in an inextricable connection with the features of its spatial and planning structure and made it possible to conduct the first approbation of the genealogical-topographic method of reconstruction of the layout of Russian cities in the XVII – early XVIII centuries
