Статья посвящена деятельности парижского архитектора эпохи неоклассицизма и ампира. Несмотря на известность мастера, публикационные сведения о его работах продолжают носить противоречивый характер, а энциклопедические издания обычно ограничиваются лишь упоминанием его архитектурного путеводителя по Парижу и двух самых известных реализованных, но утраченных построек французской столицы: театр Фрейдо и купол Рынка зерна.
Жак-Гийом Легран (1753, Париж - 1807, Сан-Дени) - ученик Ж.-Ф. Блонделя, Ж.-Р. Перроне и Ш.-Л. Клериссо - создатель примечательных архитектурных и инженерных произведений, теоретик и соавтор Ж.-Н.-Л. Дюрана, Ш.-Л. Клериссо, Ш.-П. Ландона, а также других французских зодчих в обширной издательской программе переломной эпохи. Поддерживая контакты со многими важными фигурами художественной и интеллектуальной жизни западноевропейского пространства, он исследовал античное наследие, работая в области аналитической классификации, музеефикации, систематизации и градостроительного анализа, что позволило архитектору преуспеть в ряде любопытных и смелых проектов. Изменения его воззрений в послереволюционный период отражают значимый процесс формирования основ научных критериев архитектурной реставрации.
Хотя далеко не все реализованные постройки архитектора сохранились, а некоторые проекты остались лишь на бумаге, творчество Леграна, тем не менее, заслуживает пристального внимания. Он действительно внес значительный вклад в эволюцию архитектурной профессии, умело соединяя таланты инженера, архитектора, историка и критика, возрождая забытые рецепты конструктивных решений. Его обращение к идеям Ф. Делорма и их реализация объясняет отношение зодчего неоклассицизма к наследию Ренессанса.
Особый интерес к творчеству Ж.-Г. Леграна продиктован работой в Москве французского архитектора Николя Леграна (1738/41-1798), оказавшего значительное влияние на развитие русского классицизма.
The article is devoted to the activities of the Parisian architect of the neoclassicism and empire era. Despite the fame of the master, the publication information about his work continues to be contradictory, and encyclopedias are usually limited to only mentioning his architectural guide to Paris and two of the most famous completed but lost buildings: the Freudo theater and the wooden dome of the Halle au blé.
Jacques-Guillaume Legrand is a student of J.-F. Blondel, J.-R. Perronet and Ch.-L. Clérisseau. The creator of many architectural and engineering works, J.-G. Legrand is also interesting as a theorist and co-author of J.-N. L. Durand, Ch.-L. Clérisseau, Ch.-P. Landon, as well as other French architects in an extensive publishing program of a turning era. Maintaining contacts with many important figures in the artistic and intellectual life of Western Europe, he contributed to the formation of interest in the ancient heritage, a penchant for analytical classification, museumification, systematization and urban planning analysis, which allowed the architect to succeed in a number of curious and daring projects. Tracing the changes in his views in the post-revolutionary period, one can observe how the foundations of the scientific criteria of architectural restoration science were laid.
Although not all of the completed buildings of the architect have survived, and some projects have remained only on paper, Legrand’s work, nevertheless, deserves close attention. He really made a significant contribution to the evolution of the architectural profession, skillfully combining the talent of engineer, architect, historian and critic, reviving forgotten recipes for constructive solutions. His appeal to the ideas of Ph. Delorme and their implementation, explains the attitude of the architect of neoclassicism to the heritage of the Renaissance.
Particular interest in the biography of J.-G. Legrand was caused by the activities in Moscow of the French architect Nicolas Legrand (1738/41-1798), who influenced the development of Russian classicism.
