В статье анализируются исторические аспекты создания одного из наиболее известных образцов применения ортогональной планировки - французского города-крепости Неф-Бризак (инж. С. Ле Престр де Вобан, 1698 г.), ставшего значимой планировочной моделью для европейского военного градостроительства. Исследуется циркуляция этой модели в теоретическим поле европейского военного урбанизма, в связи с чем анализируется значение влияния труда французского инженера Б. Ф. де Белидора на распространение проекта Неф-Бризака среди военных инженеров, работавших в разных частях мира, в том числе на территориях европейских колоний (Сан-Доминго, французская Луизиана). Раскрывается место в этом процессе трактатов британского теоретика Дж. Мюллера, испанского инженера М. С. Тарамаса и русского издания книги Белидора в переводе П. М. Карабанова, включенных в программы различных европейских образовательных учреждений военно-инженерного профиля. В статье ставится вопрос о значении труда Белидора для российского фортификационного градостроительства XVIII в., развивавшегося в русле общеевропейских тенденций, и для российского образования в области фортификации. Рассматривается роль Неф-Бризака как модели в реконструкции сибирских крепостей на Иртышской и Колывано-Кузнецкой оборонительных линиях 1765 г. Анализируются теоретические основания применения планировочной схемы, использовавшейся при проектировании сибирских линейных крепостей и ее связь с трактатом Белидора. Исследование проведено на основе графических материалов и редких печатных книг из собраний российских федеральных архивов и европейских библиотек.

The study investigates the historical background of creating one of the most known examples of the implementation of the orthogonal design - the French fortress city of Neuf-Brisach (Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, 1698), which had become а significant planning model in the European military urbanism. The circulation of this model in the theoretical field of the European military urbanism is examined. In this regard the article discusses the impact of the treatise written by the French engineer Bernard Forest de Bélidor on dissemination of the Neuf-Brisach project among the military engineers worked in different parts of the world, including in the territories of European colonies such as Saint-Domingue and French Louisiana. The paper analyzes the role of the treatises created by the British theorist J. Muller, the Spanish engineer M. S. Taramas, and of the Russian edition of Bélidor's writing (in translation by P. M. Karabanov) included in the training programs of various European educational institutions for military engineers. The question also asks about the role of Bélidor's treatise for the 18thcentury Russian military urbanism developed in the line with the general European trends and for the Russian education in the field of fortification. The role of Neuf-Brisach as a model in the reconstruction of Siberian fortresses on the Irtyshskaya and Kolyvano-Kuznetskaya defensive lines of 1765 is considered. The theoretical grounds for the use of the planning pattern applied in the design of the Siberian linear fortresses and its connection with the treatise written by Bélidor are investigated. The research is carried out on the basis of graphic materials and rare printed books from the collections of Russian federal archives and European libraries.
