<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The architecture of Achaemenid Iran (VI-IV centuries B.C.) is a syncretic phenomenon, which combines the local Iranian heritage with architectural achievements of previous cultures of the Near East. In the Achaemenid artistic tradition, architecture is the main style-forming art. The typology and order system of the official Achaemenid architecture are formed in palace ensembles at Pasargadae, Susa and Persepolis. A distinctive feature of this order system are composite capitals, which culminated with zoomorphic protomas. Achaemenid order forms and typol ogy had an impact on the development of local building traditions of the satrapies.</p><p>The purpose of this article is to study rare examples of Achaemenid provincial capitals from various satrapies. Despite the sufficient elaboration on Persian order forms in the historiography, isolated finds of Achaemenid-like capitals in provinces remain on pages of archaeological reports without an attempt at full comprehension. As archaeological research on Persian-like architecture outside Iran develops, the problem of studying provincial capitals as important markers of the Achaemenid influence on the architecture of satrapies is becoming increasingly relevant.</p><p>The wide geography of finds (Central Asia, Transcaucasia and the Mediterranean) provides an opportunity to identify the regional specificities and the Achaemenid influence on the resulting synthesis in the provincial architecture. This issue is revealed by analyzing the style and construction of Persian-type capitals. Consideration of features of these monuments allows us to draw important conclusions about the general nature of the processes of perception of the Achaemenid order system in the provincial architecture and local specificities.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>архитектура Ахеменидов</kwd><kwd>капители</kwd><kwd>официальный стиль</kwd><kwd>провинциальные капители персидского круга</kwd><kwd>ордерная система</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Achaemenid architecture</kwd><kwd>capitals</kwd><kwd>official style</kwd><kwd>provincial capitals of the Persian type</kwd><kwd>order syste</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Вергазов Р.
