Данная статья является первой частью исследования, посвященного одному из поздних вариантов готического ордера (конца XV - XVI в.) преимущественно в нормандских церквях Нотр-Дам-Сен-Лорен в Э, Сен-Жерве-Сен-Проте в Жизоре, Нотр-Дам в Офе, Сен-Жак в Дьепе, Сен-Валери в Варенжвиль-СюрМер, Сен-Мартен в Вёль-ле-Роз, а также в церквях Сен-Северен в Париже и Сен-Николя в Сен-Николя-деПор в Лотарингии. В хронологическую эпоху Ренессанса готический устой начинает принимать витые (спиралевидные) формы, которые понимаются весьма широко: витыми могут быть каннелюры, или частично витым - фуст. Этот феномен остается совершенно неисследованным: церкви с витыми колоннами находятся в городах, которые в Средние века были портами или же располагались на пересечении торговых путей, а ныне являются глубокой провинцией. Тем не менее, появление устоя витой формы свидетельствует о важных и серьезных изменениях готического ордера в его позднюю эпоху.
Ввиду практически полного отсутствия витых колонн на ранних этапах развития готики, представляется целесообразным обратиться в рамках данного исследования к предыдущим периодам всеобщей истории архитектуры. Статья посвящена истории появления и бытования витых колонн в Западной Европе в хронологических рамках от поздней античности до XV в. и неизбежно центрируется вокруг истории витых колонн старой базилики Св. Петра в Риме. Однако в разное время разные поводы актуализировали идею витых колонн: они могли быть интересны как раннехристианский памятник, как обязательный элемент алтарной преграды, как часть комплекса могилы мученика или как колонны храма Соломона в Иерусалиме. Часто реплика оказывается весьма далекой от прототипа, а иногда и вовсе появляется на страницах кодексов. По жанру статья ближе всего к историографии, поскольку написана на основе работ других исследователей.
Однако хочется верить, что введение готических памятников в научный оборот не только объяснит эволюцию готического ордера, но и пополнит каталог витых форм.
This paper is the first part of a study on one of the later variants of the Gothic order (late 15th - 16th centuries), mainly in Norman churches such as, Notre-Dame-Saint-Laurent at Eu, Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais at Gisors, Notre-Dame at Auffay, Saint-Jacques at Dieppe, Saint-Valery at Varengeville-sur-Mer, Saint-Martin at Veules-les-Roses and also Saint-Severin in Paris, Saint-Nicolas at Saint-Nicolas-de-Port in Lorraine. In the Renaissance chronological time, Gothic architecture starts to accept twisted or spiral-shaped forms, which are understood widely: it may be spirally fluted columns or it may be partly twisted shafts. This phenomenon is unexplored owing to the remote location of these towns, which were ports or were situated at the trade crossroads in the Middle Ages. The appearance of twisted piers, however, reflects the serious changes in Gothic Order in its late phase.
Due to an absence of twisted columns in the early stages of development of the Gothic, it is necessary to refer to the previous periods in the general history of architecture. The article deals with the history of the emergence and existence of twisted columns in Western Europe in late antiquity and the Middle Ages, and it inevitably focuses on the history of spiral columns of old St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome. The actuality of the idea of twisted columns could vary in different times. They might be introduced as in the Early Christian Monument, as a structural element of a shrine or a tomb and also as columns on Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. A replica doesn’t often seem like prototype, it can be a drawing of an illuminated codex. The genre of the article can be defined as a historiography, as it is written on the basis of other scientists’ research.
The introduction of gothic churches with twisted columns into scientific parlance is a contribution to the explana tion of the evolution of Gothic order and also а replenishment of the set of spiral forms in architecture.
