<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The study is in demand in connection with the identification of neurophysiological influence on the process of perception, awareness of geometric regular forms and the embodiment of correct regular structures in the visual arts and architecture. The interdisciplinary exchange of hypotheses, results and sources in the circle of the Russian-language history of architecture, art criticism and neurophysiology of the perception of geometric forms is of novelty and interest. The article is of an overview nature. The novelty lies in the consideration of phosphenes, as one of the sources, the formation of plans for religious buildings of the Neolithic and Bronze Age period. The stages of research are briefly presented from assumptions to proof of the influence of visual illusions of phosphenes and migraine scotoma on the occurrence of geometric images. The deification of visual visions of the period of animism (the spiritualization of all nature) presumably influenced the images and regular plans of man-made sanctuaries of the Stone Age. The geometric outlines of the plans were steadily reproduced in the available materials and structures (adobe, wood, stone) in territories remote in distance and time. The construction of the first oval sanctuaries on the lands of the fertile crescent belong to the final stage of hunting and gathering of the Natufian tribes of the IX millennium BC. Geometric figures in the outlines of permanent forms reflect the neurophysiological structure, are characteristic and natural products of the human brain and are realized in culture, art and architecture.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>геометрическая форма</kwd><kwd>видения абстрактной формы</kwd><kwd>наскальная резьба каменного века</kwd><kwd>сооружения каменного века</kwd><kwd>сооружения бронзового века</kwd><kwd>фосфен</kwd><kwd>геометризованные изображения</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>geometric shape</kwd><kwd>visions of abstract form</kwd><kwd>Stone Age rock carvings</kwd><kwd>Stone Age structures</kwd><kwd>Bronze Age structures</kwd><kwd>phosphine</kwd><kwd>geometrized images</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Артемов 2018 — Артемов А.
